Hadley House

Type: This house is not actually one of the types of earth sheltered houses which we have been talking about. The Hadley house has a conventional roof, although a highly insulated one, and is thus an earth bermed house. This type of home is probably acceptable to a greater number of people because the house does not appear to be 'underground'. However when combined with passive solar design, as in the Hadley house, and other energy saving design features, earth berming can still be a viable option for energy efficiency.
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Architect: Tom Ellison
Contractor: Ellison Design & Construction
Earth Cover: 50% on walls
Roof Insulation: 46cm Fibreglass
